{"id":113,"date":"2025-11-22T15:42:11","date_gmt":"2025-11-22T14:42:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.afghansingreece.org\/?p=113"},"modified":"2026-04-23T17:49:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T15:49:31","slug":"atelier-linguistique-communautaire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.afghansingreece.org\/en\/atelier-linguistique-communautaire\/","title":{"rendered":"Community language workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Community language workshop: this workshop helps participants practise Greek, communicate better in everyday life, and feel more comfortable living in Greece.<br><br>To respond to this need, Afghan Community is organising a community language workshop for Afghan adults and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is this workshop for?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This workshop is designed for people who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>have just arrived in Greece and only speak a few words of Greek<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have been living here for several months but don\u2019t dare to speak in public<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>want to feel more independent in everyday situations (shop, transport, school, doctor)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The level is intentionally flexible: the goal is not to follow a traditional school-style course, but to practice the language in a supportive environment, without judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does a session work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A typical session lasts about 1 hour 30 minutes and mixes several activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>simple short dialogues (introducing yourself, asking for information, making an appointment)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>group role-plays (at the doctor\u2019s, at the office, at the town hall)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>useful vocabulary for administrative procedures (papers, forms, appointments)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>open question time for participants<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop is led by a member of the Afghan Community, with support from volunteers or partners who specialise in teaching Greek as a foreign language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is this workshop important?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learning the local language, even a little, helps to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>reduce stress and dependence on an interpreter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>better understand your rights and obligations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>communicate directly with public services, teachers or employers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>feel more at ease on public transport, in shops and in your neighbourhood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also a space to meet other people, share experiences and strengthen the feeling of belonging to Greek society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to register?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you would like to take part in this community language workshop:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>check our <strong>\u201cContact &amp; Participation\u201d<\/strong> page to write to us or call us<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>indicate your name, your approximate level of Greek (beginner, false beginner, intermediate) and your availability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will get back to you to offer you a time slot and inform you about the next sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Other useful language resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the workshop, you can also consult:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>UNHCR Help Greece \u2013 Education &amp; languages<\/strong> general information and links to educational programmes<br><a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/greece\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/greece\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Caritas Hellas \u2013 Social Integration Center<\/strong> some centres offer language courses and educational activities<br><a href=\"https:\/\/caritas.eu\/caritas-hellas-social-integration-center\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/caritas.eu\/caritas-hellas-social-integration-center\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The goal is simple: for every Afghan person in Greece to gain confidence, autonomy, and dignity, one sentence at a time.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Atelier linguistique communautaire : cet atelier aide les participants \u00e0 pratiquer le grec, mieux communiquer au quotidien et se sentir plus \u00e0 l\u2019aise dans la vie en Gr\u00e8ce.
