Refugees \u2013 Greece took part in an exchange with several associations and NGOs in Athens to better coordinate support for Afghan families.<br><br>The goal was simple: to get to know each other better, share information from the field, and build joint initiatives to support Afghan families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why was this meeting important?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each organization sees only part of the reality: access to housing, legal procedures, health, school, language, integration\u2026<br>By bringing everyone around the same table, we were able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>share the difficulties observed in the field,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>identify the \u201cgaps\u201d in the families\u2019 journey (for example after the asylum application or when leaving the camps),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>clarify who does what, to avoid people being sent from one service to another with no solution,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This meeting helps create a clearer and more effective network in the service of refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Topics discussed during the meeting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, several concrete topics were discussed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Housing &amp; accommodation<\/strong> emergency shelters, rent support programmes, temporary solutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Health &amp; psychological support<\/strong> access to free clinics, support for people who have experienced trauma.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Education &amp; languages<\/strong> Greek language courses, school support for children, community workshops.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rights &amp; procedures<\/strong> asylum procedure, residence permit renewal, legal orientation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cultural life &amp; participation<\/strong> intercultural events, activities for young people, artistic workshops.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each organisation presented its services and its limits, so that families can be guided in a fairer and faster way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What this changes for Afghan families<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Afghan families who are refugees in Greece, this kind of meeting has a direct impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>fewer unnecessary referrals from one organisation to another<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>better circulation of information between associations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>faster responses in urgent situations (housing, health, child protection)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>more opportunities to take part in educational, language or cultural activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our role is also to report back on the reality in the field and the specific needs of the Afghan community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Some useful organisations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you need support, these organisations can also provide information (content in English or Greek):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>UNHCR Help Greece<\/strong> Information about rights, asylum and available services in Greece:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/greece\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/help.unhcr.org\/greece\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>SolidarityNow<\/strong> Support centres in Athens and Thessaloniki (social services, health, legal support):<br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.solidaritynow.org\/en\/<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Caritas Hellas<\/strong> Social support, guidance and integration activities:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/caritas.gr\/en\/our-work-en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/caritas.gr\/en\/our-work-en\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afghan Community will continue to take part in this kind of meeting to strengthen cooperation between organisations and improve support for Afghan people living in Greece.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rencontre entre associations partenaires : Afghan Community \u2013 Migrants &amp;
